Guangzhou Cheap Wholesale Clothing Markets: Stocklot Guide

Guangzhou is one of the world’s leading hubs for wholesale clothing sourcing. From ultra-cheap clearance stock to premium branded surplus, the city offers competitive prices, massive variety, and fast supply chains for importers, distributors, and fashion retailers.

This guide ranks five essential clothing wholesale markets in Guangzhou from lowest to highest price, helping overseas buyers choose the right market for their business needs.

1. Magang Garment City马岗服装城 – Lowest Cost Stocklot.

Magang Garment city
Magang Garment City, Guangzhou — clearance and factory overruns sold by the bag from about US$1 a piece.

Price Range: US$ 1 ~2 / piece (some items sold by weight).

Magang is known for rock-bottom prices on clearance apparel, factory overruns and mixed stocklots. Most goods are sold by the bag, without style or size selection, already packed in one bag, MOQ is one bag. Quality varies significantly, making this market best suited for bulk buyers, liquidators, and discount retailers.

Ideal For: Large-volume imports, low-margin resale, surplus stock trading.

2. Qingfeng Clothing Wholesale Market庆丰服装城 – Budget Best-Seller

How stocklot actually works

Surplus stock — stocklot, 尾货 — is not a cheaper version of wholesale. It is a different business with different rules, and most buyers who get burned here got burned because nobody explained the rules first.

Stocklot is what is left over when an export order finishes: cancelled orders, over-production, orders that failed an inspection, last season’s unsold inventory. It is genuinely cheap because the seller needs it gone. It is also unpredictable, because nobody made it for you.

Four questions to ask before you pay

  1. Is it graded or as-is? Graded stock has been sorted so sizes and colours are consistent. As-is stock is a mixed bale. Ask which one you are looking at, and ask to open a random bale rather than the one they chose to show you.
  2. Who made it, and to what standard? If the answer is vague, assume no documentation exists — no fibre composition, no care labelling, no safety testing. That is the end of the conversation if you sell into the US or EU.
  3. Is it priced per piece or by weight? Buying by weight is normal in this trade and can be extremely cheap, but you are buying kilograms of unknown sizing. Work out what it costs per sellable piece, not per kilo.
  4. Can I reorder it? The answer is always no. If a style sells well, you cannot get more of it. That is the structural limit of stocklot as a business model.

The stocklot markets in this guide, in short

Market What it is best for Watch out for
Magang (马岗) The lowest-cost stocklot in this cluster. Sizing runs mixed and short; open every bale.
Qingfeng (庆丰) Budget best-sellers — fast-moving basics at low prices. Fine for volume, not for a label; ask what it is made of.
Guangda (广大) Balanced quality — mid-grade surplus. Quality varies stall to stall; check before you commit.
Yinma (银马) Branded surplus aimed at small retailers. Some goods carry third-party branding you cannot legally resell.
Jindong (锦东) Better grade surplus, more consistent. Prices sit closer to normal wholesale, so the margin advantage is smaller.

Where stocklot fits — and where it does not

Stocklot is a good tool for market testing and for a fast cash-flow push: you can put product on a shelf this month without placing a production order. It is a poor foundation for a label.

The moment you want the same garment twice, in your own fit, with your own label and paperwork, you have left the stocklot market behind. That is a production problem, not a sourcing problem. Custom garments made from your own design start at 100 pieces per style, with sampling in 7–10 days, and every order includes the fabric buying, quality inspection and export documentation that stocklot can never provide.
