Private Label Clothing Manufacturer China

Private label means the garment reaches your customer with only your name on it. Nothing about the label, the tags or the carton mentions us. You get a product that looks and behaves exactly like something you made yourself, without building or managing a production line.

We are Imily Clothing, a private label clothing manufacturer in Guangzhou. Since 2012 we have produced private label garments for more than 300 brands, from first-time founders to established labels selling into the United States, Australia and Europe. Around 70% of our clients are high-end custom branded apparel.

What "Private Label" Means Here — and How It Differs

Working methodWho designs itWhose label goes on itWho owns the pattern

In practice, most of our clients sit between private label and OEM: they bring a design or a reference, we help develop it into something producible, and the result is theirs alone. We do not resell your design to anyone else, and we do not put your pattern in a catalogue.

Everything That Carries Your Brand

A garment only feels like your brand when every piece of it does. We ship and attach:

  • Woven labels — your brand name woven into the neck label
  • Printed labels — a cheaper option for small first runs
  • Size labels — separate or combined with the neck label
  • Care and composition labels — printed with your fabric content and washing instructions
  • Hang tags — with your logo, price or story on the reverse
  • Price tags — with barcodes if you sell through retail
  • Poly bags — plain or printed, with or without a warning line
  • Cartons — printed with your barcode and carton number so your warehouse can check stock quickly
  • Stickers and seals — for packaging closure and brand touchpoints

If you do not have the artwork yet, tell us what you want the label to say and we will help lay it out. If you already have a designer, send us the vector file and we will follow it exactly.

Decoration and Branding Techniques

Beyond the label, your branding lives in the decoration:

  • Screen printing — the most economical option, best for solid colours and larger runs
  • Heat transfer printing — good for fine detail and photographic images
  • Digital printing — no setup cost, which makes it a good fit for short runs and full-colour artwork
  • Puff and 3D printing — raised texture, common on streetwear and hoodies
  • Embroidery — outlasts the garment and reads as premium
  • Beading and appliqué — for evening wear and higher-end pieces

We will tell you which method actually suits your design rather than which one makes the order easiest for us. Sometimes that means recommending you drop a colour from a print, because at 100 pieces the setup cost would not be worth it.

From Artwork to Production

1. You send your design. A tech pack is ideal, but a sketch with measurements and a reference photo is enough to start. We will tell you what is missing.

2. We develop the pattern and quote. You get a price per piece, fabric options and a lead time, usually within 24 hours.

3. Sample. We make a single sample so you can see the fabric, fit and finishing before anything is cut in bulk. One revision round is included.

4. Labels and packaging go to production. While the sample is being approved, we arrange your woven labels, hang tags and printing so they are ready when the bulk fabric arrives. This is the part most first-time buyers forget, and it is the most common reason a shipment gets delayed.

5. Bulk production. Fabric inspection, cutting, sewing, decoration, and two rounds of quality checking.

6. Packing under your brand. One piece per poly bag, your barcode on the carton, waterproof inner bag for sea freight.

7. Delivery. Air, sea, express or DDP door to door. DDP is available for the United States, all of Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Fabric Sourcing Is Included

Fabric decides whether a design works. The same pattern in a different material becomes a different garment, which is why large fashion brands develop their own fabric rather than picking from a list.

We are based next to Zhongda fabric market in Guangzhou, the largest fabric and trim market in southern China. Because we are twenty minutes away, we can walk a design through the market looking for the closest match to what you have in mind — and we do not charge a sourcing fee for it. If the exact fabric you want is not on a shelf, we can usually have it woven or knitted to order.

You can choose to work with:

  • Knit jersey — t-shirts, tracksuits, polos, leggings
  • Woven fabric — shirts, dresses, trousers, outerwear
  • Specialty materials — lace, stripe, technical and performance fabrics, organic and natural fibres
  • Custom developed fabric — when you want something nobody else is selling

Quality Control Before Your Label Goes On

Every step that carries your name should be checked harder than a generic order, and ours is:

  1. Fabric inspection before cutting. Faulty fabric never reaches the cutting table.
  2. In-process check on partly finished garments, so a mistake is caught on ten pieces instead of a hundred.
  3. Two rounds of final inspection before packing. Hand stitching and detail work are checked individually.
  4. Full inspection on 100% of pieces — not a sample of the batch.

If something does not pass, we fix it before it ships rather than let you find out from your customer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you put my label on someone else's product?

No. Your pattern and your design are produced for you only. We do not sell the same design to another client.

Do I need to have my labels made before I contact you?

No. Tell us you want labels and we will arrange them with the production. It is usually cheaper and faster than sourcing them separately.

What is the smallest private label order?

100 pieces per style. You can split those across sizes and up to three colours.

How long does a private label order take?

Sampling is usually 7–10 days. Bulk production is 20–45 days depending on quantity and decoration, plus shipping. Labels and packaging add a few days if they are being made from scratch.

Can you sign an NDA?

Yes. Send us yours and we will sign it, or ask us for a simple mutual NDA.

Are you a factory?

We are a Guangzhou clothing development and production company. Development, fabric and trim sourcing, pattern making and sampling are all handled by our own team; the sewing is done by factories we have worked with for years, and we manage that production directly. You deal with one team from first brief to shipment, and if you are in Guangzhou we will take you to the factory producing your order.

Why should I work with you rather than going straight to a factory?

Because most factories will not develop a garment for you. They expect a finished pattern, a tech pack and a fabric order, and they set their minimum around their own line capacity. We do the development, buy the materials and build the sample first — which is why a 100-piece order is workable, and why you only have to explain your idea once.

Do you charge extra for sourcing the fabric and trims?

Sourcing is part of how we build your order, not a separate agency fee. Tell us what you need and we will quote the whole job — development, materials, sampling and production — as one number, so you are not assembling a price from three different suppliers.
